The series is directed by renowned British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, who reunites with his The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare actor Hero Fiennes Tiffin in the title role of Young Sherlock. Young Sherlock to premiere on Amazon Prime Video
Recently, Amazon Prime Video announced the premiere date of the mystery series. On social media, the streamer announced, "Stay out of trouble? We’ll see about that. Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock arrives March 4." The upcoming British series will follow the origin story of the young detective. Incidentally, Ritchie has directed two
Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey Jr in the lead role.
According to a synopsis by Amazon Prime Video, the series will chart the journey of the young Mr. Holmes. It states, "Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first-ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent."

The new teaser shows the young man arriving at Oxford for his studies. He is warned by his family to stay out of trouble but finds himself tied up investigating a break-in and even lands in jail. It ends with an iconic line, as young Sherlock says, "The game's afoot."

The series, which also stars Dónal Finn as James Moriarty,
makes some significant changes in the story. Instead of being his enemy, Moriarty is a good friend to the young detective. Other cast members include Zine Tseng, Hero's real-life uncle, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and Colin Firth. Guy Ritchie and showrunner Matthew Parkhill are also executive producers on the project.
