Nana
became a hero overnight after defending herself and her mother against a robber who has invaded her home. Now, fresh details from court proceedings have revealed a series of online posts allegedly written by the accused robber on the very day of his arrest. Prosecutors claim the posts contained disturbing questions about burglary, self-defense, detention and legal consequences, raising questions about the defendant's actions and mindset in Nana's case. The revelations surfaced as the court reopened proceedings ahead of sentencing, despite earlier arguments having already concluded.
Court Reopens Proceedings Before Sentencing Of Robber
The defense trial of a man in his 30s resumed on June 4 at the Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court. The First Criminal Division had previously concluded arguments on May 19. However, before delivering its verdict, the court decided to reopen proceedings to examine additional evidence and clarify certain issues that came out during the trial. One of the key matters discussed involved a series of online posts allegedly written by the defendant on the day he was arrested.According to prosecutors, the robber posted multiple messages on an internet forum shortly after the incident.Among the questions allegedly posted were: "What happens if a burglar trespassing into a house gets stabbed by the homeowner?" and "Is it possible to be detained following a warrant review for attempted special robbery?" Authorities argued that the timing and content of the posts were significant because they appeared to mirror details of the alleged crime.
The posts reportedly described a situation in which an intruder entered a home, encountered residents who were awake and pleaded with them not to contact the police. Additional messages allegedly mentioned that the intruder had been "stabbed in the face" and repeatedly punched before being taken for medical treatment. Some posts also referenced a victim who did not wish to pursue charges and was reportedly seeking leniency for the accused. When questioned about the posts, the accused denied that they were written before or during the alleged crime. Instead, he claimed they were written after the incident while he was already in police custody. According to the defendant, he had become curious about the legal consequences he might face and turned to online forums because he was unable to obtain clear answers elsewhere. A argued that the posts showed his concerns about possible detention and criminal penalties rather than any admission of wrongdoing.
Nana's Home Invasion Case
The defendant has been charged with aggravated robbery and causing injury after allegedly breaking into Nana's residence in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, in November last year. Prosecutors allege that he threatened Nana and her mother while demanding valuables inside the home. The invader later filed a counter-complaint against Nana, accusing the actress of attempted murder. He claimed that he sustained injuries while being subdued during the confrontation inside the residence. However, police investigators ultimately concluded that Nana's actions fell within the scope of legitimate self-defense. As a result, the complaint was not forwarded for prosecution. Following that decision, Nana reportedly filed a counter-lawsuit against the accused on charges of false accusation.
