Thalavara, featuring Arjun Ashokan and Revathy Sarma in the lead roles is now streaming on a popular OTT platform. The film which released in cinemas on 22 August, opened to positive reviews upon release.

Thalavara, is now available on Prime Video. The film directed by Akhil Anilkumar tells the coming-of-age story of a youngster (Arjun) with a skin condition called vitiligo. While those around him mock him for his physical appearance, making him suffer from low self-esteem, he challenges the odds to dream big.
Mamta Mohandas, an actor with the same condition as the film's lead character, praised Thalavara in a social media post. She posted "While we celebrate the rise and long awaited coming and successes of 'superheroine' films this season, I take this opportunity to also redirect your attention towards and throw a bright light on a hero who chose to select a script and played the role of a person who represents the life of several super-heroes & heroines that live amongst us fighting REAL battles everyday," wrote Mamta. She described Thalavara as "a beautiful painful yet powerful tale that highlights personal, emotional and especially the psychological challenges that one living with it needs to be mentally prepared for in order to face life."
During the film's shoot, an accident occurred while the lead actors were shooting. The behind-the-scenes video showed actor Arjun Ashokan being hit and dragged by a scooter. The mishap occurred while they were filming a sequence featuring Arjun and actor Sarath Sabha. Luckily, they were not injured.The film marks the Malayalam film debut of Revathy Sarma, who is known for the Tamil film August 16 1947. It also features Devadarshini Chetan, Ashokan, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Sarath Sabha, and Prashanth Murali among others. On the technical front, it has cinematography by Anurudh Aneesh, editing by Rahul Radhakrishnan and music composed by the band Electronic Kili.
