A fresh storm has hit the music industry, and this time, it is centred around one of the biggest heartbreak songs in recent years, Bekhayali from Kabir Singh. Music duo Sachet Parampara have publicly confronted
composer Amaal Mallik, accusing him of spreading false stories about the song and hurting their reputation. Their strong reaction came through a detailed Instagram video, where they addressed everything openly and urged Amaal to apologise.
Sachet-Parampara dismiss Amaal Mallik's claims
The duo began by explaining why they finally decided to speak out. They shared that Amaal has repeatedly suggested that Bekhayali was inspired by his earlier work or somehow taken from his references. Sachet Parampara firmly dismissed these claims, saying the truth needed to be heard clearly. In their video, they said, "Hi everyone, we are Sachet and Parampara, and this is regarding something which has become very serious now. This is regarding Mr Amaal Mallik. Actually, we never thought that we would have to clarify all these things, but this is something that we purely created. We are talking about Bekhayali, which Amaal Mallik claims he made some time ago."
The duo explained that the full Kabir Singh team including Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Shahid Kapoor was present throughout the creation of the track. They said they had proof of every stage of the process. They added, "We have all the chats with Amaal Mallik; we have all the chats with the Kabir Singh team because the entire Kabir Singh team was there when we created this song. Every melody, every composition, every arrangement, every lyric was done when the entire team was there, and it is purely a Sachet and Parampara original composition."
Sachet-Parampara on Amaal's favouritism comments
They also addressed Amaal’s statements about favouritism within the industry. According to Amaal, he felt others were preferred because of personal ties with the label. Sachet Parampara immediately denied this and clarified their own journey, "We were never with T-Series, we were never part of T-Series before Kabir Singh happened. And I think he has been part of T-Series since 2015, if we are not wrong."

They said, "I didn't even have your number, Amaal Mallik. You called me, you texted me telling me you were waiting for our song and then congratulating me and asking about your day after Bekhayali was released."
Sachet-Parampara deny receiving Amaal's work over WhatsApp, demand apology
They also pushed back against Amaal’s claims that someone sent them his references on WhatsApp. They stressed that as outsiders, no one would randomly send them another composer's work. They expressed disappointment and frustration, urging Amaal to stop making accusations without proof and to stop misleading the media. They added that they believe in the fairness of the industry, saying outsiders like them have built careers through hard work, not connections.Towards the end of the video, Sachet Parampara demanded a public apology from Amaal, saying the accusations have damaged their image. They said, "We want an apology from you, and in public, because you went outside. You went on your social media, asking and telling all these things. Also, this can happen to anyone."
What did Amaal Malik say?
During an interview with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, Amaal claimed that Sachet and Parampara made Bekhayali from his reference. He said that he had originally created musical ideas for Bekhayali and shared them on WhatsApp, and that parts of those ideas were later used in the final track.
He further added that he was initially supposed to compose six tracks for the Kabir Singh album but eventually ended up with just one, Yeh Aaina.
