When
the Sony Pictures Television production, Spider-Noir, arrives to streaming later this year, viewers will have the option to watch the series in either True-Hue Full Colour and Authentic Black & White. The Marvel Comics Spider-Verse character is being brought to life for the first time in live-action by 62-year-old actor Nicolas Cage. Interestingly, he already voiced a version of the character in the Oscar-winning animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018. Cage has described his version of Ben Reilly also known as the Spider, as "70 percent Humphrey Bogart, and 30 percent Bugs Bunny.” Spider-Noir will be released on Amazon Prime Video on May 27 internationally.
Nicolas Cage in Spider-Noir
The first teaser of Spider-Noir was shared online by Amazon Prime Video in both colour and black and white. The upcoming series goes back to 1930s New York with Cage playing an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator named Ben Reilly. The PI must come to terms with his past as New York’s only superhero. The series also gives the world-weary and reluctant vigilante an apt tagline with “With No Power Comes No Responsibility.”
