Actor Rashmika Mandanna’s latest film, The Girlfriend, has made its OTT debut on 5 December on Netflix. The film directed by Rahul Ravindran, opened to positive reception upon its release on 7 November.

The film, also featuring Dheekshith Shetty in the lead, was praised for its performances and bold storytelling which featured the tale of a woman in a toxic relationship. Now viewers who have watched it online are taking to social media to share their views on it.

Some users weren't fully impressed with the film. A social media user posted "Too preachy Intentions were good but the execution was poor Sometimes it felt like "RX100 in the heroine's point of view Performances were overcooked & script was undercooked The old-school scenes & writing made it boring." That insecure control freak not only committed the domestic violence & ruined his wife's life, he also managed to brainwash his kid.
