Pranit More’s post on Instagram. For the unversed, 23-year-old Himanshu Jangra, who attended Pranit More’s show in Gurugram, revealed that he went on a date with a woman where he paid Rs 370 for a plate of chicken biryani and expected a sexual favour in return. Earlier this afternoon, Pranit More issued an apology over the matter and asked for a second chance to improve as a person. Now, Samyuktha Hegde, who has featured in several South Indian films, lashed out at the Bigg Boss 19 finalist. In a hard-hitting comment, Samyuktha wrote, “Pranit, stop reading a teleprompt.” She further mentioned that the comedian didn’t get carried away or anything. She feels that was his actual personality and called his actions ‘shameful’.
The Roadies fame further stated, “This is R@pe culture, and your mind and most minds in our country are conditioned to believe this is okay, but it’s not. Your sorry means nothing!” According to Samyuktha, not only Pranit but also the guy (Himanshu) and the rest of the audience present in the room were a problem. She stated comedy can be funny when rape will not be normalised.
Samyuktha Hegde concluded by stating, “Don’t sell anything as comedy and expect people to react well to it. A county where 4 rapes are reported every hour, this is not humour!” (sic) For the unversed, Pranit More received support from Kunickaa Sadanand, Kishwer Merchant and others after he issued an apology for his mistake.
