Dhurandhar
2 turned out to be the biggest hit of 2026 so far. The Ranveer Singh-starrer has been breaking several records at the box office since its release on March 19, 2026, in theatres. Hirav Mehta, who played a key role in Dhurandhar The Revenge, recently had an exclusive interaction with Zoom and revealed some unknown details about his famous SP Chaudhary Aslam killing scene in the film. For the unversed, SP Chaudhary Aslam’s role was played by Sanjay Dutt. Hirav is now considered India’s Favourite Driver on social media after the scene went viral on social media. He also opened up about feeling intimidated by Ranveer and Sanjay while doing scenes with them.
Hirav Mehta On SP Chaudhary Aslam's Killing Scene Shooting Process
During a candid chat with us, Hirav Mehta stated that he has been receiving a good response from the masses ever since the iconic scene went viral on social media. He said, “It’s just amazing because an actor ultimately wants to connect with the audience, even if there are no dialogues. Through your actions, expressions, and emotions, you should be able to win hearts. I think I was capable and fortunate enough to do that. If you see social media, the most viral scene from Dhurandhar is mine, the driving sequence and the plot twist where I kill SP Chaudhary Aslam. It feels incredible that even a small part in such a big film is getting so much love. It makes me feel I’ve done something right, and all these years of practice have paid off.”
When asked about the details of shooting a particular scene, the actor revealed that it was shot in three different locations. Hirav Mehta said, “We shot it across three locations - Leh Ladakh, Chandigarh, and Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai. The first scene, where the camera pans on me and I share moments with Ranveer Singh sir and Shirodkar sir, was shot in Leh Ladakh. The driving sequence was shot in Chandigarh, and the close-ups were done in Mumbai. It was an amazing process. Aditya Dhar sir made everything very smooth and gave excellent briefings. I was able to shoot all my scenes in just one take, which felt great, and it looks fantastic on screen too.”
Hirav Mehta On Sharing Screen Space With Ranveer Singh-Sanjay Dutt
When asked if he ever felt intimidated or nervous while sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt, Hirav revealed that he was quite nervous. The young actor said, “Yes, definitely. They are legendary actors, very experienced, and my seniors. There’s always nervousness about whether you can match their level, the intensity and the quality they bring. I was nervous before the scene, but as you keep performing, your confidence builds. The atmosphere on set was very positive and smooth, with great coordination. Aditya Dhar sir guided me really well about the emotions and execution. Both Ranveer Singh sir and Sanjay Dutt sir were very supportive.”
Hirav Mehta has now become a viral sensation after killing Sanjay Dutt’s character on-screen. When asked about the feeling of getting love from the audience for his brief yet important role in the first film, Dhurandhar 2, the handsome hunk stated, “I really feel very blessed by God because this is my first Bollywood film, and it’s none other than Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The success of my very first movie, and the love people are giving me, is overwhelming. People have made me almost like a viral sensation. Wherever I go, people recognise me. They take selfies and photos, and this is what every actor always wants: that their acting is appreciated. Getting a chance to act in Bollywood itself is huge for me. I was doing television before, so this is a big shift, and it’s amazing.”
