that Smriti and Palaash would now marry on December 7, just weeks after their much-publicised November 23 wedding was abruptly postponed. As the rumour gained momentum, Smriti’s brother Shravan Mandhana stepped in to shut it down, confirming that no new date has been set.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the Indian cricketer's brother refuted the rumours and dismissed the fresh speculation as completely unfounded, “I have no idea about these rumours. As of now, the wedding is still postponed."The couple’s original ceremony in Sangli was halted unexpectedly on the morning of the wedding after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a severe medical emergency and had to be hospitalised. Shortly afterwards, Palaash was also admitted to the hospital, reportedly due to intense stress brought on by the emotional upheaval and concern for Smriti’s father. His mother later shared that he was placed on IV support and underwent several tests before being discharged.

The sudden postponement, along with silence from both families, triggered a wave of online theories, many extended far beyond the health scare. Allegations of cheating began circulating after supposed screenshots of private conversations surfaced on social media, leading to speculation that infidelity may have played a role in the delay. Adding fuel to the chatter, fans noticed that Smriti deleted her engagement posts, including photos and the proposal video, and removed social-media tags linked to Palaash — changes widely interpreted as signs of trouble.

2 Cheographers allegedly involved in controversy post wedding postponement
The rumour mill then dragged two choreographers involved in the wedding’s dance preparations into the controversy. Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan were both accused by online users of being connected to the alleged infidelity. The choreographers responded with strong public statements, calling the claims fabricated, damaging, and entirely false, and urged people to stop spreading misinformation about private individuals.

Meanwhile, the families have continued to appeal for restraint and privacy. Palaash’s mother called the swirling rumours deeply hurtful and stressed that the postponement stemmed solely from concern for Smriti’s father. She also shared that Palaash had suggested delaying the wedding even before the Mandhana family formally decided to do so.Despite the storm of speculation, neither Smriti nor Palaash has addressed the cheating accusations directly. Their only shared response so far has been a small update to their Instagram bios, the addition of an evil-eye emoji, seemingly aimed at warding off the negativity surrounding them.
