Dhar’s Dhurandhar turned out to be the biggest hit in Hindi cinema. The filmmaker has been enjoying the success of his film franchise for the last 6 months. However, the filmmaker Santosh Kumar accused Dhar by claiming that the filmmaker’s Dhurandhar is a copy of his 2023 script D-Saheb. After his theft allegations, Aditya filed a defamation case against Kumar in the Bombay High Court. Amidst all, the High Court has recently disposed of the defamation suit filed by the Dhurandhar director Aditya Dhar after Santosh Kumar apologised for his statements.
Bombay HC Shuts Aditya Dhar’s Defamation Case
According to a Live Law report, the Bombay High Court closed the defamation case after Santosh tendered an apology for his statements on Tuesday. A single-judge bench of Justice Arif Doctor issued an order to Mrs Bhura; the counsel of Santosh Kumar has tendered an apology for his statements made in the press meeting held on March 30, 2026. Aditya Dhar’s representative, Senior Counsel Dr Saraf, submitted the statement in the court on behalf of his client, who said that he doesn’t wish to precipitate the suit for damages after receiving an apology from Santosh Kumar. The statement by the judge reads, “He accepts the said apology and submits that the suit can now be accordingly disposed of. In light of this, nothing further survives in the suit, and the same is accordingly disposed of."
On the other hand, the judge has also granted Santosh Kumar the liberty to initiate appropriate proceedings with regards to his claim over the film’s script. Aditya is yet to share his official statement on the same.
