Varanasi Trailer: SS Rajamouli Unveils Most Ambitious IMAX Film Starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka, Prithviraj

Baahubali and RRR, SS Rajamouli's next Telugu film is another stunner. The official trailer of Varanasi was unveiled at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad in front of 50,000 attendees. The stars and team of Varanasi were present to show their hard work of these past months in a massive Globetrotter event that invited fans and media from around the world.

Varanasi trailer unveiled in Hyderabad

SS Rajamouli shared the first trailer of Varanasi on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Here you go… VARANASI to the WORLD…" The trailer opens with a glimpse of Varanasi in 512 CE and moves to 2027 CE where an asteroid Shambhavi is shown to have an impact on earth. Going from Antarctica to Africa, the visually stunning film even stops at Lanak in 72000 BCE where there is a glimpse of Hanuman.

It eventually takes viewers to Vaaranaasi at the Manikarnika Ghat, where fans get the first look of Mahesh Babu's Rudhra. He rides in on a white bull holding a giant trishul. This trailer indicates that not only will the film be globetrotting, it will be time-trotting as well. The Varanasi trailer does not feature the characters of Mandakini, played by Priyanka Chopra, and Kumbha, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. They were earlier revealed in character posters a few days ago. Filmed for IMAX, Varanasi is set to release in theatres on Sankranti 2027.
