Demon Hunters finally broke the jinx at the Grammys by giving the mega awards, its first K-pop song. The Netflix animation's smash hit Golden won Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 68th Grammy Awards during the Premiere Ceremony in Los Angeles, thus emerging as the first Grammy win for K-pop songwriters and producers. Golden is performed by the film's fictional girl band HUNTR/X, for which singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami lent their voices. The Grammy win went to its songwriters EJAE, Park Hong Jun (aka Teddy), Joong Gyu Kwak, Yu Han Lee, Hee Dong Nam, Jeong Hoon Seo and Mark Sonnenblick. EJAE is also the composer-writer of the track. The big win cemented a breakthrough moment for K-pop creators on the global stage.

Golden defeated major nominees including
I Lied to You by Sinners (performed by Miles Caton and written by Ludwig Göransson and Raphael Saadiq),
Never Too Late from Elton John: Never Too Late (performed by Elton John and Brandi Carlile, written by Brandi Carlile, Elton John, Bernie Taupin and Andrew Watt),
As Alive as You Need Me to Be from Tron: Ares (performed by Nine Inch Nails and written by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross), and
Sinners from Sinners (performed by Rod Wave, and written by Leonard Denisenko, Rodarius Green, Travis Harrington, Tarkan Kozluklu, Kyris Mingo & Darius Povilinus).
Golden makers receive trophy
The award was picked by the team, as producer Jeong Hoon Seo (aka 24) gave an acceptance speech in both English and Korean. Jeong also gave a special shoutout to "Pioneer of K-Pop Teddy."Teddy Park, aka Park Hong Jun is a renowned music producer who has worked with BIGBANG, G-Dragon, PSY, Sunmi, 2NE1, CL, Jeon Somi, Blackpink, as well as solo singles from members Rosé, Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa., helping shape the global crossover for South Korean music for over two decades now.
Golden's other position and nominations at Grammy
Golden had earlier topped the Billboard Hot 100 throughout the summer. At the time of writing this article, it was also nominated for Song of the Year, with co-writer Mark Sonnenblick getting another nod for the track, and the pop duo/group performance category.
Golden, however, lost out on the 2026 Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance to
Defying Gravity by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Even David Guetta's Rem/x of Golden was defeated by Gesaffelstein for his remix of Lady Gaga's Abracadabra, in the Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical category.
