Recently, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai's OG Bhabi Shlipa Shinde gave an interview in which she appeared to criticise Shubhangi Atre, suggesting that the latter lacked comic timing. This comment sparked a reaction from actor Sourabh Raaj Jain, who addressed the situation on Instagram without directly naming anyone. In his post, he strongly defended Atre, showing her decade-long contribution to the show and stressed on the importance of respect and decency in the industry. As fans would know, the show Bhabiji initially aired in 2015, originally starring Shilpa Shinde as the beloved Angoori Bhabhi. Within a year, Shinde left the show due to creative differences, paving the way for Shubhangi Atre to step into the role. Over the next decade, Atre became
synonymous with Angoori, winning the hearts of audiences across the country. Recently, Shinde returned to reprise her role as Atre bid an emotional farewell to the show.
Sourabh Raaj Jain's indirect dig at Shilpa Shinde for criticising Shubhangi Atre
Taking to his official Instagram handle on Saturday, December 20, the
Mahabharat actor wrote, "The replaced actor entertained audiences for around 10 years, being loved throughout. And for whatever reasons, when the first actor steps back into the same character, she tells the media the replaced actor isn’t as big as her and lacks comic timing. No ma’am, it’s YOU who lack basic decency… IYKYK."He added, "Why I am sharing this… it’s for learning—for myself and like-minded people. Humility counts; everything else is transient."
Here's what happened
In her interview with Telly Chakkar, Shinde said, “
Dekhiye as an actor… she did her work well. She is a good actress, but comedy isn’t easy. And trying to copy someone else is very tough, very pressuring. Today, even if I try to copy an actress, it just doesn’t work, no matter how well I act.”
Shubhangi Atre on leaving Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain
Meanwhile, Shubhangi Atre, speaking to Bombay Times, expressed grace and positivity, “I just want to say I am ending this replacement game now. Shilpa left the show early, so it felt like she handed me a newborn baby. I raised that baby for ten years and now return it to her, having given it values and sanskars. I wish Shilpa and the team all the best for the 2.0 version of the show. She is a fantastic actor, and I am genuinely fond of her.”What is your take on the controversy? Tweet to us @TimesNow!
