Ramayana
Teaser: After Dhurandhar 2, if there's one film that is being looked forward by audiences with enthusiasm, it is Ramayana. Everyone had been waiting to see Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama in the Nitesh Tiwari directed mythological epic and the moment finally arrived on the occasion Hanuman Jayanti today, April 2. In a grand launch, Namit Malhotra and team unveiled a teaser titled 'Rama', which not only revealed Ranbir's look as Lord Rama but gave a glimpse of Yash's Ravana and the overall scale of the film.
Fans React To Ranbir Kapoor's Look As Lord Rama
With the amount of hype Ramayana is carrying, it was a given that the teaser would leave fans divided. And that's exactly what happened. While the Rama teaser is trending across every social media platform at the moment, the reactions to it are mixed. One section is mesmerised by the grandeur and other found shortcomings with the VFX. There are portions in the teaser that earned unanimous applause. On the other hand, the internet feels that the visual effects in fighting sequences need polishing.
Praising Ranbir Kapoor's Rama avatar, a fan wrote, "#RanbirKapoor as Rama will be a life time experience. Theatres will turn into temples for sure!" Another said, "Visually stunning glimpse! #ranbirkapoor looks phenomenal as Lord #rama. He expresses so much through his eyes - the calmness, the grace truly captivating. In the vanvas attire, he doesn’t just look the part - he feels like Lord Rama himself, carrying that divine aura! #ramayana."
VFX Gets Mixed Reactions
Taking to X, a user wrote, "My honest take on the #Ramayana teaser after watching it twice: The first VFX shot instantly felt like a fan-made edit, which caught me completely off guard. Some scenes look genuinely good, and it's a clear step up from Adipurush. Ranbir appears deeply immersed as Ram and the overall ambition is huge."They added, "However, many VFX frames feel uncanny and overly stylised (almost AI-like). For this massive budget, DNEG’s involvement, and the sacred scale of the Ramayana, I expected stronger cinematic realism like we’ve seen in LOTR, Avatar, Game of Thrones, and House of the Dragon. Hoping the full film delivers the emotional and visual magic this epic truly deserves."
Another user mentioned, "#Ramayana Teaser Good but not at the level of Great. For a budget quoted around 4K crore the visuals don't entirely do justice apart from the last shot of the trailer. The VFX in fight scenes look a bit off, needs improvement, the indoor shots though look great."
Pushpak Vimaal Shot Gets Maximum Praise
Towards the end of the teaser, we get a glimpse of Yash' Ravana and his Pushpak Vimaan, which thoroughly impressed fans. It is already being regarded as the best part of the Ramayana teaser, with one fan writing, "If there were any complaints, that Pushpak Vimaan shot at the end shattered them. That was so so good."
Overall, fans hope that the makers will work on polishing the VFX since the release is still six months away.
