Stand-up
comedian Samay Raina and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made their first appearance together after India's Got Latent row. The duo featured on Kapil Sharma's Netflix show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. Interestingly, Samay even met another comedian, Sunil Pal. Kapil took hilarious digs at Samay and Ranveer on his show. At one point, the stand-up comedian recalled getting a warning call from the Daadi Ki Shaadi actor before India's Got Latent shut down. Their conversation happened a day before Raina's show got shut. Here's what Sharma told Samay over a phone call.
Kapil Sharma warned Samay Raina
On TGIKS, Ranveer Allahbadia asked Kapil if he had seen India's Got Latent episodes. To which, the comedian said he did watch few episodes. Kapil recalled speaking to Samay and asking him how there wasn't a single case against him. Adding to this, Samay shared, "And I swear, the day my show shut down, sir called me a day before that, he told me something bad is going to happen to you."
This was followed by Kapil revealing that he advised Samay to be careful as he was in the limelight. The comedian stated that he advised
Samay based on his own experience. Kapil believes that one can be famous by saying anything, but once they're famous, they just can't say anything.During the same episode, Samay reflected on the difficult phase after India's Got Latent row. In that phase, Kapil was first to call him up and say that his bad days will be over soon.
What do we know about India's Got Latent controversy?
For the unversed, Samay and Ranveer landed in trouble after the latter made a vulgar and obscene remark on the show. Ranveer's controversial question to contestant about parents sparked outrage on social media. It led to multiple FIRs and legal issues. Samay also had to take down all episodes of India's Got Latent from his YouTube channel.
