actor Karanvir Sharma, who was last seen in The Trial Season 2, had an exclusive chat with Zoom, where he opened up about his bond with Satish Shah and recalled how the late actor asked his father to make him an actor.
Karanvir Sharma talks about Satish Shah
In a candid chat with us, the Zid actor stated that his father, Kewal Sharma and Satish Shah worked together in many movies. He said, “Dad often shared stories about how he and Naseer Saab would improvise together in the movie, especially the scene of their visits to Gangu Bai for their favourite beedi. ‘Humne kisko paisa diya hai aur tereko nahi diya jo tujhe bura lag raha hai?’ my all-time favourite line said by Satish ji.” For the unversed, Kewal Sharma had directed and written Maalamaal, which is a cult classic. Karanvir said, “There was always a special bond between Satish Shah Ji and my father. The camaraderie Satish Ji shared with Naseer Saab off-screen reflected beautifully in their on-screen chemistry. I still remember visiting the sets of Main Hoon Na, where Dad was supervising the VFX. Satish Ji smiled and said, ‘Kewal Ji, apke bete ko toh actor banaiye.’ At that time, I was still learning the ropes of the industry while completing my graduation. But that one line stayed with me.” Karanvir Sharma also mentioned that it was Satish Shah who felt that he should become an actor but not a star. He concluded his chat by stating, “Such was the greatness of the man; he told my father to make me an actor, not a hero or a star. That’s the mark of a true artist.” Talking about Satish Shah, the actor is survived by his wife, Madhu Shah. His funeral will be held tomorrow at 12 pm at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Vile Parle, Mumbai.
