Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the romantic comedy clashed with Suriya and Trisha Krishnan's Karuppu at the box office. It has been confirmed that Pati Patni Aur Woh Do will stream on Netflix after concluding its theatrical run. A Bollywood film generally lands on OTT after 45 to 60 days of its cinematic release. However, the makers of Ayushmann and Sara's movie have not confirmed PPAWD's OTT release date yet.

For the unversed, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do earned less than Mudassar's 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh. Featuring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday, the movie collected Rs 9.1 crore on day one of its release. That said, it remains to be seen how the recently released movie works further at the ticket window.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Ayushmann Khurrana reacted to rumours of his film PPAWD promoting infidelity. Dismissing the speculation, the actor said, "We are not promoting infidelity with this film." Ayushmann further revealed that out of all Pati Patni Aur Woh films, his movie features a male lead without a roving eye. He added that his character Prajapati Pandey loves his wife, but gets caught in tricky situations.

In Mudassar Aziz's Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Ayushmann is seen as Prajapati Pandey, while Wamiqa Gabbi plays the role of his wife Aparna Trivedi. As for Sara Ali Khan, she portrays the role of Chanchal Kumari and Rakul Preet Singh essays the character of Nilofer Khan. Vijay Raaz, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ayesha Raza, and Vishal Vashishtha are an integral part of the movie.
