Delhi: India-origin techie Anand Varadarajan has been appointed by Starbucks as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and executive vice president. Varadarajan has been with Amazon for nearly two decades and will now lead technology operations at Starbucks.Anand Varadarajan will join Starbucks as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) from January 19 and would be reporting directly to Amazon’s Chief Executive Officer Brian Niccol, the company said. Who is Anand Varadarajan?
Anand Varadarajan has been with Amazon for almost two decades (19 years). He majorly focussed on developing customer related technology platforms, overseeing supply chain for its Worldwide Grocery Stores business. Prior to Amazon, Varadarajan was with Oracle and other startups.

Anand Varadarajan is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and completed master’s degree in computer science from University of Washington.
