Sajja’s year at the movies was brilliant. He returned to theatres after Hanu-Man with Mirai, a Telugu superhero film that excelled at the box office. Karan Johar backed the film under his home banner, Dharma Productions, in the Hindi market. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Teja opened up about working with the renowned filmmaker in a ‘chakachak’ (elite) Dharma film. Mirai, a superhero blockbuster, was directed by Karthik Gattamneni and released in theatres on September 12. Talking to Zoom, Teja further confirmed that he is in talks with Karan for a pan-India project. Details of the same are yet to be disclosed.

Teja spoke to Zoom exclusively and shared plans to collaborate with Karan. He joked, “Whenever you meet Karan sir, please ask him when is he casting Teja in a chakachak Dharma love story. I would also want to experience that,” before adding, “Jokes apart. We are actually planning something interesting. Dharma has been venturing into many avenues and Karan sir has been a kind person. He is extremely sweet.”
Karan backs Mirai
During the Mumbai press conference ofMirai, Karan lauded the makers of the film and said, “I am deeply privileged and honoured to present Mirai. I congratulate TG Vishwa Prasad sir. His tremendous passion is what brought him here. We don’t work based on numbers or calculations; we go by passion and instinct. Karthik is an immensely successful cinematographer. He put his heart and soul into Mirai, which is the beginning of many more to follow.”He added, “The team pulled off great VFX with limited resources. The budget is tight, but the vision is large. The vision is worth a thousand crores. It has nothing to do with money. When I saw the world of Mirai, I was blown away. Not just because it is deeply rooted in our ithihas, but its storytelling is deeply rooted. I got goosebumps watching the interval block. I literally stood up, wondering what was happening.”
