Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji is releasing in theatres this Friday. The advance booking window for the film opened on Monday (April 27). Based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the rise of the Maratha kingdom, the historical drama has garnered attention and interest of the audience. As per early trends, Raja Shivaji has taken a good start with the pre-sales. The bilingual film clashes with Junaid Khan-Sai Pallavi’s Ek Din and Meryl Streep’s The Devil Wears Prada 2. Despite the box office competition, Raja Shivaji is showing promise at the ticket counters.

Raja Shivaji’s early predictions hint at a successful first weekend. With May 1 being a holiday, the film gets a long weekend to draw the audience to theatres. According to Sacnilk’s early estimates, the historical drama has sold 13,221 tickets. The reported gross sale was Rs 34.03 lakh. With blocked seats, it went up to Rs 57.46 lakh.

Genelia Deshmukh, who is also the producer, is taking home Rs 1 crore to Rs 2 crore. Mahesh Manjrekar has reportedly received Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore.
