The buzz around Artemis II isn’t slowing down anytime soon. After the successful launch last week, the US-based space agency NASA is now preparing for one of the most exciting phases of the mission, the lunar flyby. And this time, it’s not just space enthusiasts who can witness it. The moment is going global, with streaming platforms stepping in to bring the experience straight to your screens. Here's everything you need to know about this.Where And When To Watch The Live StreamAccording to NASA’s official blog, the popular space agency has confirmed that the Artemis II lunar flyby will be streamed live across multiple platforms. Interestingly, even Netflix has joined the list, giving this mission a wider audience than ever before. If you’re
watching from India, the livestream is expected to begin around 10:30 PM IST on April 6. Apart from Netflix, viewers can also tune in via NASA+, Prime Video, Apple TV, Hulu, HBO Max, Roku and NASA’s official YouTube channel. NASA has noted that timings may shift slightly depending on real-time mission conditions. What Makes This Flyby So SpecialThe Artemis II crew, Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, are set to travel farther than any humans have in over five decades. In fact, the mission is expected to break a long-standing record set during the Apollo era. At its peak, the Orion spacecraft will reach a distance of over 252,000 miles from Earth, going beyond what the Apollo 13 crew achieved back in 1970.What Will Happen During The FlybyAs the spacecraft approaches the Moon, there’s a lot packed into a short window. The crew will enter the Moon’s gravitational zone, begin observations and capture data that could shape future missions. One particularly fascinating moment will be the brief communications blackout. As Orion moves behind the Moon, signals from Earth will be temporarily blocked for around 40 minutes. There’s also a rare visual treat expected. From the crew’s perspective, the Sun will pass behind the Moon, creating a stunning eclipse-like view.
