As soon as the word spread about Hayagrriva’s OTT release, the Sandalwood fans gave mixed reactions. One fan charring his love for the movie, wrote, “What a fantastic movie, all the characters delivered outstanding performances”. He added how Sunil Rao and Dhanveerrah were perfect fits for the police role with their extraordinary performances. Crediting Sanjana Anand, the user wrote, “You absolutely nailed your role”. Hayagrriva is directed by Rajkumar OR, marking his debut in the directorial world. The lead, Arjun Hayagrriva, is assigned to the high-stakes case where brutal and ritualistic murders take place. Every victim’s face is disfigured intentionally with animal faces to hide their identity. This makes it harder for the police to delve deeper into the findings.

The ensemble cast includes Dhanveerrah as the young officer who faces his first major case. He navigates through the ancient symbols and finds out about the dark motives of the antagonist. The journey becomes tough for him as the storyline throws at him personal struggles involving marital issues, along with the heinous revelations. Lead actress Sanjana Anand adds emotional depth to the movie. Ashwini Gowda steps in as the new commissioner of police, who promises and ensures there are swift investigations to reveal the true suspect and to bring back the city to its lost peace. The supporting cast includes Sadhu Kokila, Ravishankar, Sharath Lohitashwa, Krishna Hebbale, Ashwin Hassan, Gilli Nata, Shobh Raj, and Sunil Rao in key roles.
