What did India watch in 2025? According to Ormax media's yearly audience measure report, Indian audiences stuck with the familiar as several series returned to take up the top slots. Only one new series was
able to break through and that honour belongs to Aryan Khan's The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Two international series also made the top 10 list, and both were titles ending their run in 2025. Streaming services JioHotstar and Amazon Prime Video divided up the top five, with Amazon MX Player also claiming a spot. Meanwhile, Netflix claimed 20 entries in the overall top 50 with its shows and films.
Most-watched OTT series in India during 2025
1. Special Ops Season 2 on JioHotstar
The most-watched series of the year was Neeraj Pandey’s spy drama
Special Ops with Kay Kay Menon reprising his role as RAW agent Himmat Singh. The second season drew in 29.6 million views. Tahir Raj Bhasin and Prakash Raj came on board the show for Season 2.
2. Criminal Justice: A Family Matter on JioHostar
Pankaj Tripathi’s quirky lawyer Madhav Mishra took on yet another twisty
murder case with the fourth season of the British remake. The latest instalment garnered 27.7 million views as audiences wondered if Dr Raj Nagpal (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) murdered his daughter’s caretaker, Roshni (Asha Negi). Mita Vashisht and Shweta Basu Prasad returned to the series, while Surveen Chawla and Barkha Singh joined the cast.
3. Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 on Amazon MX Player
Fans could not get enough of the drama series
Ek Badnaam Aashram directed by Prakash Jha after it returned for the second part of its third season with 27.1 million views. Bobby Deol returned as Baba Nirala and faced off against Pammi (Aaditi Pohankar) in the ultimate power struggle. Featuring Chandan Roy Sanyal and Tridha Choudhury, the Amazon MX Player series' final five episodes provided ultimate thrills.
4. The Family Man Season 3 on Amazon Prime Video
Raj & DK’s spy thriller
The Family Man brought on Jaideep Ahlawat and Nimrat Kaur as antagonists for its eagerly anticipated third season, which brought in 24.6 million views. Manoj Bajpayee reprised his role as intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari, and returning cast members Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Ashlesha Thakur and Vedant Sinha also joined him on the run from the law.
5. Panchayat Season 4 on Amazon Prime Video
A rare comedy on the list is The Viral Fever’s Panchayat starring Jitendra Kumar. This season, the outcome of the local elections in Phulera village drew 23.8 million views. Jitendra, along with Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy, are set to return for Season 5.
6. Bigg Boss (Hindi) Season 19 on JioHotstar
The Salman Khan-hosted show crowned TV actor Gaurav Khanna as its latest winner with 20 million views. With Farhana Bhatt, Pranit More, Tanya Mittal, Amaal Mallik and Malti Chhar as the top contestants, the long-running Hindi reality series continued to dominate conversations around the world.
7. Paatal Lok Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video
Returning with a second season after a five-year gap, Sudip Sharma’s Paatal Lok hooked in audiences with Jaideep Ahlawat back as Hathiram Chowdhary. The police officer’s newest assignment drew in 16.8 million views.

9. Squid Game Season 3 on Netflix
The final season of Korean survival thriller Squid Game garnered 16.5 million views in India. The Netflix series starring Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hyun closed the chapter on the deadly games and left an unlikely winner at the end.
10. Stranger Things Season 5 on Netflix
Another Netflix series that ended in 2025 was
Stranger Things. Co-created by Matt and Ross Duffer. The show starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and Sadie Sink garnered 16.4 million views for its fifth season that featured the final battle for Hawkins, Indiana.
