Vishal, Ravi Arasu End Feud Over Magudam-Direction Controversy
FEFSI president RK Selvamani informed Times Of India that the issue between the two has been resolved. “There was a misunderstanding between director Ravi Arasu and Vishal. We have spoken to both and helped them reach a mutual understanding. The director himself has agreed to step away from the project,” he shared. He further said that Vishal will continue directing Magudam as planned. “The issue has been amicably resolved, and the shoot of the film is currently taking place at a studio in Paiyanur,” Selvamani added.
Recently, Vishal released the second look of his film Magudam, confirming that he had taken over the directorial work from Ravi Arasu. While reasons for disagreement between the two were not officially revealed, it has been speculated that the two had creative differences regarding the project, which led to the director exiting the film. Magudam marks Vishal's directorial debut. In a note he said he never 'expected' this scenario. He posted "Yes, never expected this scenario but circumstances had led me to take a crucial decision to rework the creative process and direct this film, a decision made not out of compulsion, but out of responsibility. As an actor, I’ve always believed that cinema is a commitment to the audience who trusts us and to the producers who invest their faith and hard earned money in every project. And now taking the director’s seat for Magudam/Makutam is the only way of ensuring that this film stands tall, that the producer’s efforts are safeguarded, and that the audience receive the best experience they truly deserve in the world of commercial cinema."
