Sydney Sweeney Remembers 'Special' Euphoria Co-Star Angus Cloud As She Wraps Up Season 3 This Week

the premiere of her new film Christy, Sydney Sweeney revealed that she was about to complete filming Euphoria Season 3 this week. The actress is reprising her role as Cassie Howard on the HBO series, and the third season plotlines are under wraps until its premiere in spring 2026. Sydney also shared how emotional it was to return on set and not have co-star Angus Cloud with them anymore.

The cast and crew were devastated after Angus Cloud died of a drug overdose in July 2023; he was only 25. In a new interview with Variety, Sydney recalled how difficult it was to go on set without him and shared how the cast processed his death. She said, "It was definitely a very emotional experience to go back to a set and not have him be there with you. I think my first call was Maude, and then Jacob [Elordi], and we were all just crying on the phone together. It’s not something you want to bring people back together over, but I’m thankful to have my castmates to be able to process all of that together.”At the AFI Fest premiere of her wrestling biopic Christy, Sydney also stated that her part on Euphoria is concluding this week. She stated, "I wrap Euphoria in two days. It’s mostly the same crew, so it feels like I’m going home to family. I’ve grown up with them. I was 20 when I did the pilot, so being able to see a lot of the same people, it feels very comforting."Zendaya, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, and Colman Domingo are some of the other cast members returning to the series. It is rumoured to be the final season of the award-winning drama.
