More About Project Hail Mary
Project Hail Mary is based on the 2021 science fiction novel by American writer Andy Weir, which tells the story of Dr Ryland Grace, played by Gosling, who is a school teacher and ends up getting stuck in a spacecraft. When he awakens, he finds an alien named Rocky who turns out to be his unexpected sidekick. As Ryan's Ryland recovers, he finds out that his mission to venture into space was to ultimately stop a mysterious object from blacking out the Sun. The actor earlier shared that filming some of the scenes was challenging, especially when his co-star was not physically present. He revealed that his daughters, Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee, helped him during filming by voicing the alien character through an earpiece. "There are moments where I'm laughing or charmed, and it's actually my kids talking to me," Gosling said, according to People.
He added that his daughters have been closely involved in the project, watching multiple cuts of the film and offering feedback. Gosling noted that they were a key reason he chose to take on the project.Ryan Gosling aside, the movie also features Sandra Huller, Milana Vayntrub, Ken Leung, Liz Kingsman and James Ortiz. The movie will be released in India on March 26.
