Vijay'sJana Nayagan was one of the most anticipated releases of this year. Directed by H Vinoth, the political action thriller was scheduled for big-screen release on January 9. However, it hasn't seen the light of day as it hasn't been certified yet. Even before the movie could be released in cinemas, the entire film was leaked on the internet. It started with Vijay's introduction scene leak, followed by the illegal circulation of the complete Jana Nayagan film. Amid this, Mamitha Baiju has strongly condemned the leak of her film. Her statement comes hours after her Jana Nayagan co-star Pooja Hegde posted a note.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Mamitha shared a statement that read, "Dear audience, A film comes to life through the hard work, passion, and commitment of so many people who give their best every single day. It's truly disappointing to see it being circulated illegally."
The actress further mentioned that some moments are meant to be experienced together on the big screen, just as they were intended. She also requested people to wait and enjoy it the 'right way' when
Jana Nayagan officially releases. Mamitha even urged everyone not to support piracy. She feels by not supporting piracy, one can safeguard cinema and everyone behind it.

Jana Nayagan. She said that watching the leaked film and sharing it illegally is tough because it takes away the respect that every artist and technician on the movie deserves. "Plus, don’t we all deserve to gather together to celebrate and watch Vijay sir’s last film, one last time, on the big screen in the right way? So let’s watch it the right way," she added.On a concluding note, Pooja requested everyone to wait as the film will be out in due time and told them not to encourage piracy. "That’s how cinema and art will survive. Love, Art. Artists. Technicians," penned Pooja.
