Television actor Arjun Bijlani and his family are going through a period of profound grief after the demise of his father-in-law, Rakesh Chandra Swami. Neha Swami’s father passed away on January 1,2026
Thursday morning after suffering a sudden medical emergency. According to media reports, he was hospitalised after experiencing a brain stroke and had been on ventilator support for the last three days before he breathed his last on January 1. He was 73 years old. On Monday, January 23, Arjun Bijlani's wife Neha Swami took to social media to pen a heartbreaking note remembering her late father. She also shared pictures of Arjun as he completed the final rituals of her father and their son Ayaan Bijlani joining them.

In a post shared by Neha Swami on her official Instagram handle, the actress shared pictures from the puja and prayer meet at home, after her father's demise. Arjun is seen completing the rituals and even visiting Haridwar to immerse late father-in-law's ashes in the holy river as per Hindu rituals. Arjun and Neha's son Ayaan was also seen paying tribute to his late Grandfather in the pictures.Alongside the pics, Neha penned an emotional note to her late father and wrote, "Daddy i still don’t believe you’re gone and i don’t want to believe it. My heart refuses to accept a world where you’re not there..It’s not just me our entire family feels this emptiness. Yet somehow, I feel you everywhere. In silence. In memories. I am going to miss you so much Daddy. I keep thinking about our last dinner together. Our last conversation. And that beautiful message you sent me just a day before. I hold it like it’s a part of you I can still touch." She added, "I know how much you missed Mom every day, every minute. I saw it in you. I felt it. I know you wanted to be with her again, because I knew how much you loved her. That kind of love is rare, Daddy. I am so lucky to be born to parents like you and Mama.You taught me what love really means the purity , the honesty, the depth, the truth. You taught me how love feels when it’s real. Mom taught me so much too. Everything I am is because of both of you." Neha went on to pen heartbreaking note and shared about losing her brother, mom and Dad. She penned, "I imagine all of you together up there in haven..You, Mom, and Bhaiya. That thought comforts me more than anything. Bhaiya Please take care of Dad and Mom for me. Now they are with you.. I carry a little guilt in my heart..that I couldn’t take care of mom and dad the way I wanted to. But I know you’re taking care of them and that gives me peace. Dad Don’t worry about Nishu. I will take care of him. I promise. I will love Ayaan the way you loved him. And Arjun your favorite damad will make you proud as always.. I promise you that too." According to reports, Rakesh Chandra Swami was admitted to the hospital on December 29 after he suffered a brain stroke. Upon learning about the seriousness of his condition, Arjun immediately returned to Mumbai on December 30, cutting short his travel plans, as his father-in-law was placed on a ventilator. Despite the doctors’ efforts, his condition did not improve.For those unaware, Arjun Bijlani and Neha Swami were in Dubai celebrating New Year when they received news of Neha’s father’s hospitalisation and immediately returned to Mumbai. Throughout this difficult time, Neha’s brother, Nishank Swami, a film director, has been by the family’s side, offering constant support.
