Joining them were Mammuka's industry peers, including veteran actor Kamal Haasan and Jr NTR, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Khusbu Sundar and more.

Famous Telugu actor Jr NTR quickly went to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate all the winners from the bottom of his heart. Jr. NTR sent Mammootty a special note to say congratulations on winning the Padma Bhushan. He called him "mammukka." "Congratulations to @mammukka sir on getting the Padma Bhushan for inspiring generations through decades of great work." He also praised R. Madhavan for winning the Padma Shri award, saying that it was a well-deserved honour for all of his work in Indian cinema.

Prithviraj Sukumaran shared a picture of Mammootty on his Instagram Story and wrote Padma Bhushan and added a crown emoji. Next, he went on to write that Mammootty's honour is "Well deserved and much delayed."

Calling him "rightly deserving," veteran actress Khusboo Sundar posted on X portrait of the legendary actor Mammootty and extended Heartiest congrtaulations to 'Mammuka Sir'.

On Sunday evening, Kamal Haasan also congratulated 'friend' Mammootty on being conferred with Padma Bhushan.

Double celebration for Mammootty

Remaining at the pinnacle of cinema for over four and a half decades is a rare achievement. Mammootty’s journey began with his first Kerala State Film Award in 1981, when he won Best Supporting Actor for Ahimsa. On Sunday, as he was set to receive his ninth Kerala State Film Award for his impactful performance in Bramayugam (2024), news broke of another prestigious honour - his selection for the Padma Bhushan, bestowed for “distinguished service of a high order.” Mammootty is one of the most famous actors in Indian cinema, and people all over the world admire him. He started his film career in 1971 with a small part in Anubhavangal Paalichakal and went on to have a long and successful career.The veteran actor won his seventh Best Actor award at the Kerala State Film Awards in November of last year, adding to his already impressive legacy.
