of Pop, Michael Jackson’s biopic, has released worldwide today (April 24). Select theatres across India had special screenings on Thursday. Allu Arjun, who is in the middle of Raaka’s shoot, the actor took time to watch the biopic. He visited one of his theatres in Hyderabad and watched the movie with fans. Pictures from the cinema hall went viral on social media. The top row of the theatre was booked for Arjun. The last film he watched and reviewed was Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 in March. Now, his fans are awaiting a reaction from him on social media.

Allu Arjun was among the top contenders to play Michael Jackson in the biopic planned by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The Pushpa 2 star, who is also known as the Indian Michael Jackson by his Telugu fans, was looking forward to the biopic, which was eventually put on the back burner.
In 2024, Sandeep said in an interview with Galatta that he wanted to make Michael Jackson’s biopic, but there were many challenges in its journey. He explained why the film would be morally and practically tough. "It is a very interesting life, you know, Michael Jackson's life right from his childhood, when he was singing in school, and how he changed his skin colour and all that, what he has been through, it’s a great journey, great story," he said in the interview. Discussing the challenges of casting the right person for the biopic, he called it a
tricky, but dream project.
