Renuka opened up about Aishwarya facing body-shaming for her Cannes red-carpet appearances after she became a mother. "Should we not celebrate her consistent achievements over the years? It doesn't take one minute for a big company to drop you. And she has been the brand ambassador for the company for years and she is representing us year in, out. And all we can think of is 'Oh isme ye pehna toh ye thik nahi tha. Oh no!' Please mat kariye ye (Please don't do it). Renuka Shahane on dealing with insecurities, body-shaming
As our conversation continued, the Bollywood actress opened up dealing with insecurities related to her weight. "Main muh kholti hu aur main weight put on karti hu (laughs). That is unfortunate. Actually, jab bacche chote the tab mujhe lagta bhi nahi tha aisa kuch. (I open my mouth and I put on weight. That's unfortunate. Actually, when my kids were small, I didn't even think anything like that)."However, the actress said only her weight was discussed after she did Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 on TV. She added that her achievements, whether big or small, weren't discussed at all. "Sirf weight ki hi baat hui hai. Mujhe laga ki hum sirf vo weight ka number hai kya? It's our whole journey and achievements in life. Vo iss vazan ke kaante ke upar kaise dependent(hai)? (It was just about the weight. I felt that are we just that weight number? It's our whole journey and achievements in life. How is that dependent on this weighing scale?)," she wondered.ALSO READ - Renuka Shahane Reveals Salman Khan Was 'Very Mischievous' During Hum Aapke Hain Koun Shoot: Luckily He Didn't... - EXCL
