the upcoming Kannada film that brings together stars Shivarajkumar, Upendra and Raj B Shetty has been creating buzz ever since it was announced. The film which marks popular music composer Arjun Janya's directorial debut, is all set to hit screens on 25 December. Following its theatrical run, 45 is expected to stream on Zee5, with Zee Network bagging the satellite broadcast. The early acquisition of satellite and digital rights indicates the confidence in the film’s content, scale and ensemble cast.At the trailer launch which took place recently, Raj B Shetty, who plays one of the leads in the film, spoke about working with Upendra and Shiva Rajkumar. He said "I grew up watching Shivanna (Shivarajkumar) and Upendra on screen. Now, I have shared screen with them. We always speak about our films not reaching other states. Hope this film breaks that".

The Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions of 45 will release on January 1, 2026. The film also brings together major distribution houses across several regions. Zee Studios will release the film in North India, while KVN Productions will handle the film's release in Karnataka. Mythri Movie Makers will oversee the Telugu release, AGS will distribute the Tamil version, while Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films will release the Malayalam version through its Varpoorva banner.

Arjun Janya lost his brother during the Covid-19 pandemic, which is reportedly the inspiration behind the story of 45. According to reports, the film revolves around the 45 days after a person's death, which, as per Sanatana Dharma, is when the soul moves to the after life or gets a rebirth.
