Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s latest film, Peddi, is ruling theatres. The Telugu heartthrob plays a cross-athlete in the sports drama helmed by Buchi Babu Sana. For the film, Ram Charan had to adopt a new style of batting that oozes swag, confidence and command. His unique batting moves inspired his bodyguard Kevin Kunta’s new reel. The West African bodyguard shared a video on Instagram, in which he could be seen perfectly recreating Ram Charan’s batting style. His caption was written in Telugu and Hindi. Kevin’s video went viral instantly.

Who is Kevin Kunta

Kevin shot to fame as he accompanied Ram Charan to every public event. The 27-year-old is from West Africa’s Gambia. Before joining the actor, he was a professional MMA fighter who was based in Florence, Italy. According to Tapology, Kevin’s official name is Abdou Kadirr Sowe. He was born in 1998 in Gambia. He is known as ‘Mama Lamin of Barra’. Reportedly, Kevin earns Rs 2 to 4 lakh per day as Ram Charan’s bodyguard. Kevin gained immense popularity after he jumped in to save Janhvi from a massive accident during the Vijayawada event for Peddi’s promotions. A fan of Ram Charan broke security protocols to meet his idol and click pictures. Amid the chaos, he barged into Janhvi, who was taken aback by the sudden incident. Kevin protected her and took the fan away from the celebrities.

Amid the ongoing discussion about Janhvi’s protection in the film, announcing corrective measures, director Buchi Babu Sana issued an announcement regarding the removal of controversial scenes. In his tweet, he mentioned that the intention was never to disrespect any female character. "If any part of the film has been perceived that way, we respect those sentiments, understand the concerns being raised, and sincerely apologise. After reviewing the feedback, we have decided to make changes to the concerned portions,” he wrote, before adding, “Every woman deserves to be respected, valued, and represented with dignity. We remain committed to telling stories that celebrate strong characters and uphold those values.”
