OpenAI is all set to bring a new feature to ChatGPT that will remove the requirement to add repeated instructions and prompts every now and then. The new feature will let users convert a custom GPT into a skill. According to a post on X by Tibor Blaho, Lead Engineer at AIRPM, OpenAI is planning to integrate the Skills feature on ChatGPT. The feature can be used to give custom instructions or prompts that users can access just by typing a few shortcut letters. This will make the user of repeated instructions on the platform easier. For example, if someone used ChatGPT for research and wants to make sure that the AI always remains grounded to the texts or URLs being shared in the chat, so they can provide a shortcut for this instruction in place
of typing it over and over. Users can also do the same in case they want an AI model not to use an em dash, provide responses in a specific number of words, write responses in bullet points, and more. According to the tipster, OpenAI will add the Skills editor tool, and it will be available for users, and they can even update or edit them based on their preferences. Until now, OpenAI has not revealed the official launch date for the feature. So, it seems that readers have to wait until OpenAI confirms something officially before speculating on the launch date of the feature.
