He praised the effort and sincerity that has gone into bringing the story to life, calling it a deeply emotional and impactful cinematic experience. “He has highlighted the work Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj did. If you don’t cry with pride after seeing this film, I will quit acting. He has made a brilliant film,” Abhishek said confidently.
Abhishek also shared that working with Riteish had long been on his professional wish list. He expressed gratitude for being cast as Sambhaji Raje, a role that allowed him to explore the character in depth. He appreciated how the film treats its characters with respect and authenticity, something he believes will resonate strongly with viewers. Raja Shivaji is a historical epic directed, written, and produced by Riteish Deshmukh. Reports also suggest a special appearance by Salman Khan.
Backed by producers Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh under Mumbai Film Company and presented by Jio Studios, the film will release in both Marathi and Hindi on May 1. The trailer is expected to drop on April 20 with a grand launch event in Mumbai.
