While ARMYs speculated that BTS might attend Met Gala 2026, a viral post claimed that Jungkook and V who were allegedly invited, won't be attending the event. The group is currently on a world tour in the honour of their latest album, ARIRANG.

A viral post on Instagram allegedly claimed that BTS'
Jungkook and V were invited to the Met Gala 2026. However, the post mentioned that they will not attend the event and the potential reason is BTS is currently on a world tour. Although there is no confirmation from Met Gala official, the viral post is all over social media right now and ARMYs have already started reacting to it. Some said that Jungkook and V won't be attending due to their busy tour schedules, while others expressed their joy seeing the duo's names.
Meanwhile, the viral post titled as '10 Celebrities Who Won't Be at the Met Gala 2026' mentioned celebrities names such as Kanye West, Blake Lively, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Kim Taehyung (V), Nina Dobrev, Bella Hadid, Jungkook, and Demi Lovato.In the caption, the poster mentioned that in the list, some celebrities are busy, others were not invited, and a few have been banned.
