a big win for Ilaliyaraaja in the copyright battle, the Madras High Court, has ordered the immediate removal of two songs from the movie Dude. The production company, Mythri Movie Makers had requested for 7 days' time which was also rejected by the court.

Following the verdict, the court has also adjourned the next hearing of the case to January 7, ordering the production company must file a formal response to Ilaiyaraaja's petition. The court also stated the reason during its order that the “sanctity” of the songs has been affected. While Pradeep Ranganathan's film Dude has earned over Rs 100 crore it continues to face legal trouble. Now the court has ordered the makers to remove two popular songs composed by Ilaiyarajaa to be remove from the film. The songs Karthu Machaan (Pudhu Nellu Pudu Naathu) and 100 Varusham Indah Mappilaikkhu (Panakkaran) were included in the film without Ilaiyaraaja’s permission.

Ilaiyaraaja's lawyer argued that the songs were modified and used in violation of copyright law. The rights to the songs belong to them; they also stated that the music label has already been issued a restraining order against using these songs. Instead, the production team of Dude argued that the music label had acquired the rights to the songs from the previous party and that they had obtained proper permission.Dude, directed by Keerthishwaran released in cinemas on 17 October. The film tells the story of cousins Agan (Pradeep) and Kural (Mamitha) cousins, who get involved in a complex relationship after one of them falls in love with the other and proposes marriage.
