Parents in India will soon get a better idea of what their teenagers are watching on Meta-owned popular social media platform Instagram. The tech giant has announced new supervision tools that will allow parents to see what their teenagers watch on Instagram, including content shown in Feed, Reels and Explore."We’re introducing additional insights for parents so they can better understand their teen’s algorithm on Instagram and the topics that shape it. We’re also making it easier for parents to manage and supervise their teen’s experiences across Instagram, Meta Horizon, Facebook, and Messenger by consolidating the parental tools in Family Center in one place," Meta said in a blog post.According to Mark Zuckerberg-owned social media company,
if a teenager shows interest in topics such as basketball, photography or music, parents will be able to view these categories through Meta’s supervision tools. The company says this feature is designed to help families understand why certain content appears on a teen’s Instagram account.Meta, in its blog post, said the update is designed to encourage meaningful conversations between parents and teenagers about what they consume online. The new feature builds on Instagram’s 'Your Algorithm' tool introduced last year, which lets users customise what they want to see more or less of on the platform.Social Apps Like Instagram Accused Of Keeping Children Hooked
