Akshay
Kumar and Vidya Balan have starred together in several Bollywood films, such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), the comedy Heyy Babyy (2007), and the drama Mission Mangal (2019). Now, the pair is all set to reunite for a new comedy-drama directed by Anees Bazmee. Taking to his Instagram account, Akshay, who was last seen in Bhooth Bangla, confirmed the film and shared a video of them getting on a plane to go to Kerala to begin shooting. Earlier reports claimed that the film will have two actresses, and one of them will be Vidya Balan.

Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan have headed to Kerala for the next shooting schedule of his upcoming film, directed by Anees Bazmee. It marks Akshay and Vidya's fourth collaboration, and the actor expressed optimism that their successful on-screen pairing continues to bring good fortune. He captioned it, "Next stop: God’s own country, the magical Keralam. Anees Bazmi’s next is my fourth film with the ever fabulous @balanvidya and I hope the good luck charm of our jodi continues."

Akshay was recently seen in
Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. The film marks the actor and director's reunion after 14 years. The story follows Arjun Maurya (Akshay Kumar), who comes to the village of Mangalpur to arrange his sister's (Mithila Palkar) wedding at their ancestral palace. Despite warnings from the caretaker, Shantaram (Asrani), about a local legend, a demon called Vadhusur who causes brides to disappear on their wedding night, Arjun remains dismissive and bold. However, warning turns real when Arjun confronts the legend of Vadhusur.
The film also casts Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi as Priya, Mithila Palkar as Arjun’s sister, Asrani as Shantaram, Jisshu Sengupta, and Rajesh Sharma, bringing together a diverse mix of talent across generations for the upcoming comedy drama.Meanwhile, Vidya will be seen in

Swarajya (self-rule), battling powerful Mughals and Adil Shahis. Vidya plays the role of Badi Begum, the important ruler of the Bijapur Sultanate and the mother of Ali Adil Shah II. She had a lot of control in the royal court and opposed Shivaji Maharaj. The film will hit cinemas on May 1.
