American actor Bruce Willis is an icon for many. In 2022, it was announced that the actor would be retiring from acting permanently. The Die Hard star is currently afflicted with Dementia. The Hollywood legend’s daughter, Rumer Willis, shared an earnest update of his health. In one conversation, she revealed how his personality had changed from earlier, as he turned softer and more emotional towards everything following the diagnosis. The Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood actress opened up about her father’s health journey. The update became significant for Bruce’s fans.

Rumer Willis On Bruce’s Health

In an interaction with Insider Edit, Rumer informed the world about her father, Bruce Willis's, health. She spoke on how grateful she is to see and meet him every day, even when he is changed now, given his health condition. “There’s a sweetness”, she adds as the Die Hard actor always remained a macho, but now it's just the tenderness that his earlier self would not have allowed for him.

Rumer was unaware of how advanced the disease was. When the diagnosis for Frontotemporal Dementia was done, it was then that she realised it was very prevalent. “It’s wild to me. So many people come up to me now, and they say, ‘My uncle had FTD. My dad had this”, she explained how ordinary it has become.

Not Rumer’s First Time Opening About His Condition

In November 2025, Rumer, in her Instagram story, responded to the questions on Bruce’s health. She said it's tough to answer such questions about how he’s doing, "because the truth is that anybody with FTD is not doing great”, she added. She said with candidness that he's doing okay for someone who has FTD, People reported. Further, talking about the bond they share, she reflected that it’s good to just go there and hug him, whether he recognised her or not. “I still see a spark of him”, the actress summed up.
