Today, Thalapathy Vijay will be taking an oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Ahead of that, his parents have expressed happiness over their son's achievement. Speaking to ANI, Vijay's father SA Chandrasekhar said, "We are happily going for the function. I am going to enjoy that my son is going to take the oath now." His mother also stated that she is happy. Earlier, when Vijay won the Tamil Nadu 2026 elections, his father called it a 'historic success'. He lauded his son's confidence and belief that he could become Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with Zoom, Vijay's cousin, Vikranth Santhosh, reacted to his brother's massive political victory. He stated that words aren't enough to say how proud they are for the TVK Chief as family. He mentioned that people have showered love on Vijay for the last 35 years and will continue to do so.Vikranth is also confident that his cousin brother will work towards the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu. He further recalled his fondest memory of growing up with the TVK Chief. "Our childhood was good, but when Anna entered films and tasted success he began seeing the love people have for him...it is that moment that he decided he will give it back to them," revealed Vikranth.

On the work front, Thalapathy Vijay was last seen in The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT). Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the action thriller was theatrically released on September 5, 2024. The star-studded cast of this film includes Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, and others.

Jana Nayagan. Co-starring Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju, the movie was set to release in theatres on January 9 this year. However, the project's release has been delayed due to certification issues. It was earlier reported that Jana Nayagan would release on May 8. But the media reports turned out to be false.
