saw my HERO baby! Enrique Iglesias performed for the third time in India. But it was my first-ever experience attending his LIVE concert in Mumbai. Phew! October 29... what a magical night it was! I couldn't keep calm as my childhood hero, the Spanish singer whose music I grew up listening to, was right there singing his timeless hits.Enrique made a smashing return to India after 13 years, and he didn't disappoint his fans! The opening night turned into an unforgettable celebration of music, emotion, and memories. What made the concert so special? It was Enrique himself, and a magical 90-minute live set that spanned 19 of his biggest hits. And it was completely worth it.
The King of Latin Pop's concert kicked off around 6 pm with an electrifying opening act by ProBros, who instantly got the crowd grooving to their high-energy beats. They set just the right tone for the night ahead. The one that was destined to be memorable. Following them, Jonita Gandhi took center stage for the second opening act. While expectations were high, her act received a lukewarm response. She delivered her signature Punjabi and Hindi hits with flair and energetic dance moves, but her act lacked overall spark. Now, I couldn't wait any longer for the man himself to perform. But as they say sabar ka phal meetha hota hai, so I waited. And then, the moment arrived! ENRIQUE IGLESIAS took the center stage, the spotlight was on the man of the moment. The Spanish singer commanded the stage with charisma and warmth, performing 19 of his chartbuster. It immediately transported me back to the Bluetooth MP3 era, when Enrique's voice dominated my playlist and heart.
What stood out most for me how effortlessly he connected with the crowd: smiling, dancing, and just interacting with his fans throughout in some way or other. Enrique opened the night on a smashing note performing Súbeme La Radio, instantly sending the audience into a frenzy. What followed was a carefully curated setlist featuring his chartbuster tracks like Me Pasé, El Perdón, Cuando Me Enamoro, I Like How It Feels, Bailando, Tired of Being Sorry, Ring My Bells, Takin’ Back My Love, Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You), Escape, Freak, Chasing the Sun, Be With You, Heartbeat, Duele el Corazón, Bailamos, and Sweet Dreams. Each performance was met with roaring applause and thousands of fans singing along. The standout moment of the night for me came when Enrique performed Hero. He paused midway and let the crowd take over the chorus, a moment that left him visibly moved. Overwhelmed with the response, he smiled and got emotional. He folded his hands, said 'Namaste', and thanked his Indian fans for their love and loyalty. In a playful surprise, he even teased a few notes of Mundian Tu Bach Ke Rahi, much to the crowd’s delight.
Between tracks, he repeatedly expressed gratitude to his Indian fans for their unwavering support and unconditional love. His energetic and upbeat stage presence, combined with stellar production, lights, and sound, made the night an absolute visual spectacle.13 years after his last performance in India, Enrique simply proved that true charisma doesn’t fade, it only deepens with time. His third visit left me wanting for more. And as the final notes faded into the Mumbai night, one thing was clear:this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a night to be remembered forever.
