YouTube Music has officially kicked off its 2025 Recap, giving listeners a fresh and personalised look at their year in music and this time, it arrives even before Spotify Wrapped. The annual feature has become a favourite among users who love tracking their top artists, genres, and listening habits. But the 2025 edition brings an interesting twist: Google’s Gemini AI now plays a big role, helping users explore their music trends with smarter summaries and even fun explanations. If you’re curious to know what your music year looked like, here’s everything you need to know. How To Check Your YouTube Music Recap 2025The Recap is available directly inside the YouTube Music app, tucked neatly under your profile section. Once it rolls out to your device,
accessing it takes just a few taps. You simply need to open the app, tap on your profile icon, and look for the Your Recap option. Under the 2025 Recap banner, you’ll find a lime-green button labelled Get Your Recap, which opens your personalised summary instantly. If you don’t see it yet, Google-owned streaming platform says the rollout is still in progress, so it should appear over the next few days.New FeaturesThis year, YouTube Music has added several new layers of insight to make the Recap feel more meaningful and more shareable. Once you open your 2025 summary, you’ll see the usual highlights like your top songs, favourite artists, most-played genres, and the podcasts you spent the most time with. The app also builds a playlist of your top tracks from the year, which you can add directly to your library. One of the most interesting additions is Passport mode, which maps where your favourite artists come from, giving you a geographical flavour of your listening habits. There’s also a new day-by-day view that shows when exactly you listened to certain artists throughout the year, making the experience feel more personal.ALSO READ: You Will Soon Get WhatsApp-like Previews In Gmail Notifications But There’s A CatchGemini Q&A And Google Photos IntegrationThe biggest upgrade this year is powered by Gemini. Using the new Gemini Q&A feature, you can ask your own questions about your music behaviour, whether it’s which genre you discovered unexpectedly or which artist you kept looping the most at night and the AI will break it down for you in a conversational way. It feels more like chatting with your own music analyst.YouTube Music is also tying Recap closer to your personal life with Google Photos integration. This feature matches your top songs with your favourite photos and automatically creates shareable cards or mini photo albums. It’s a thoughtful touch that blends memories and music, and it’s clearly designed to give Recap a bigger presence on social media feeds.
