In a glimpse from the recent docuseries Boy Band Confidential, Fatone opened up about the financial struggles he faced after the group went on an indefinite break in 2002. Fatone, who is also the excutive producer of Bad Boy Confidential, made a shocking revelation about going backrupt and facing a powercut.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, back when money was flowing steadily, Fatone invested in a massive 10,000-square-foot home spread across four acres. He recalled checking in with his accountant before making the purchase and being reassured that his finances were more than secure. He shared that at the time, it seemed like the income would keep coming. However, things turned upside down over years. Nearly a decade later, when he approached a new accountant, the actor was given a harsh reality check -he needed to sell the house immediately or risk going bankrupt.
He recalled the situation reaching a painful low during one Christmas, when the electricity at his home was suddenly cut off due to unpaid bills. Fatone remembered how the outage happened while his entire family had gathered for the holiday. They were in the middle of preparing Christmas Eve dinner when the power went out, turning what should have been a joyful occasion into a stressful and embarrassing moment.At the time, relatives were present at his home and he had to scramble to fix the situation as quickly as possible.At that point, the pressure had built up. Married with two children, Fatone found himself struggling to keep things together while also trying to maintain a sense of privacy. He admitted that he even reached out to wealthy acquaintances for financial help, but no one stepped in. Left to handle things on his own, he had to swallow his pride and figure out a way forward.

Eventually, he sold his house and moved in with his parents along with his then-wife and their daughters. For nearly a year, he stayed in Las Vegas, working hard to rebuild his career step by step. Over time, things began to improve, and he managed to get back on stable ground. In the clip, Fatone described the experience as a major wake-up call. Like many young stars who achieve fame early, he wasn’t equipped with the knowledge to manage his finances properly. He admitted that poor guidance and a lack of financial education played a big role in his downfall.
