In Ramayana, one of the biggest releases of the year and the most expensive Indian film ever made, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as Lord Rama. His casting in Namit Malhotra's ambitious project has been a topic of conversation since initial reports of him being roped in. The buzz recently grew stronger when the makers dropped the first glimpse on Hanuman Jayanti. While critics still have a lot to say, his co-stars have been praising him for his dedication to the role. After Arun Govil and Indira Krishnan, another cast member has lauded Ranbir as the perfect choice to portray Lord Ram.Surabhi Das On RamayanaIn an interview with Mid-Day, actress Surabhi Das recalled that during her audition, she didn’t realise how big the project was or who was a part
of it. She later understood its scale and said she is excited. She added that she has seen people’s reactions and believes the makers are doing great work.The actress also shared that working on the film felt overwhelming at first as she was surrounded by experienced actors.
In the film, Surabhi will reportedly play Shrutakirti, Maa Sita’s cousin and Shatrughan’s wife. She is the daughter of King Kushadhwaja (Janak's younger brother) and Chandrabhaga. Shrutakirti is often described as an incarnation of the lotus of Goddess Lakshmi. 'Ranbir Kapoor Has Lord Rama's Aura And Grace'Talking about Ranbir, she said he truly looked like Lord Rama on set and always stayed in character during scenes. "To play Lord Rama, you need to have that aura and grace. When you walk on set, you need to have that energy about you that makes people look at you, no matter what. And Ranbir Kapoor carried that. He had this energy and aura about him. Even when we were not doing a scene, he was in his character, as he is an introverted guy."She also praised Sai Pallavi, saying she looked beautiful even with minimal makeup.More About RamayanaDirected by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled to arrive in theatres on Diwali this year. DNEG (Double Negative), an 8-time Oscar-winning VFX studio known for its work on films like Dune, Interstellar, and Inception, will handle the visual effects. Meanwhile, Hans Zimmer is collaborating with AR Rahman to compose the score.
