Madhuri Dixit Recalls How She, Renuka Shahane Managed HAHK Shoot Without Toilets On Set – EXCLUSIVE

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit ruled the 90s with her amazing performances. Now, she is actively working in web series. She recently featured in a suspense-thriller, Mrs Deshpande, which is out on JioHotstar.

Recently, in an exclusive interaction with Zoom, Madhuri recalled how she and Renuka Shahane managed to shoot Hum Aapke Hain Koun without toilets on set. The actress also mentioned that she would help Renuka Shahane to understand how to manage such difficult conditions during the outdoor shoots. Apart from that, Madhuri also revealed that despite such issues, they would enjoy their work with a lot of love and enthusiasm.

Madhuri Dixit on working on HAHK without washrooms

In today’s time, vanity vans have solved a lot of actors’ hygiene issues, but back in the 90s, actresses would struggle a lot to go to the loo during the outdoor shoots. Madhuri Dixit recalled those earlier days when there were no washrooms on the sets of the films. She even mentioned how she and Renuka Shahane managed to work on the Hum Aapke Hain Koun set without toilets. Madhuri Dixit said, “We used to go for outdoor. The hotels used to be 2 hours away from the set. We used to be in the middle of nowhere. We just had cars and no vanity vans with us. We used to go into the jungle, or our hairdresser would hold the shawl. If you don't do that, you just avoid drinking water. It eventually spoils your health.”

Moreover, Madhuri Dixit also explained how they would enjoy working on the sets despite such difficult situations. The Mrs Deshpande actress said, “These were the pitfalls at that time. But we survived all that and enjoyed it. We never really thought that 'aisa hona chahiye'. That was the way we lived at that time. That's how things were. Within all those elements, we had fun and enjoyed making movies.” While speaking about her helping nature towards the newcomers, Madhuri stated, “When a newcomer comes, she wouldn't know these things. So, as an experienced person, I would help her.”

Madhuri Dixit On Working With Salman Khan

When asked about working with Salman Khan in the same interview, Madhuri Dixit said that he would often irritate her with his naughty behaviour. She said, “Salman can be very naughty. You can be really irritated with him sometimes, like, 'Why are you being irritating now? There's an important scene.' But all those kinds of things really helped to have a naughty relationship between the two of them. We could do all that because there was great camaraderie. We do not have to be in touch all the time, talking on the phone or something. But whenever we meet, there's warmth, there's respect, and there's genuine liking for each other. We worked very well." Talking about Madhuri Dixit’s new web series, Mrs Deshpande also stars Siddharth Chandekar, Priyanshu Chatterjee and others in key roles. Madhuri Dixit has worked in several films, such as Tezaab, Beta, Dil, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Khalnayak, Anjaam, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Saajan, Devdas, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Aaja Nachle, Ram Lakhan and so on.
