Matthew Perry’s Sister Still 'Feels, Hears' Late Friends Actor: Maybe Ghosts Are Real
Times Now
Two years after everyone's favourite Friends actor Matthew Perry’s sudden passing, his sister Caitlin Morrison continues to feel his presence deeply. As she reflects on her brother’s memory and the upcoming
anniversary of his death, Morrison shares a touching and humorous perspective on grief, healing, and connection beyond loss.
Matthew Perry's sister still hears him
Caitlin Morrison admits that her brother’s presence hasn’t completely left her. “I feel him around a lot and I can hear the things that he would say in response to the things that are going on as if he’s actually here saying them. Maybe he is. I don’t know. Who knows? Maybe ghosts are real,” she tells Variety and then adds a joke to the emotional conversation saying, “We’ll make some pottery together.”
Caitlin on coping with Matthew's death
As October 28, the day Perry passed away, approached this year, Morrison revealed that she has learned to navigate the mix of sorrow and acceptance that the date brings. “It’s just always going to be a day with a little bit of darkness on it,” she says. “But maybe that’s wrong, because on his birthday this year, I realised I was actually more OK that day than usual. Those days like October 28th don’t actually make it harder. They’re the days where it’s allowed to be really hard. They’re permission to cry publicly in an embarrassing way.”Despite the lingering sadness, Morrison channels her brother’s trademark humour even in grief. “The defensive mechanism funny answer is he ruined Halloween for me, so thanks,” she quips. “The serious answer is… it’s just a day with a little bit of a darkness on it.” Matthew Perry, who was best-known for playing the role of Chandler Bing on Friends, died on Oct 28 at his home in Los Angeles. He was 54 at the time of passing.
