Sinha is gearing up for her Telugu debut with the film Jatadhara, releasing on November 7. Now recently, in an interview, the actress has spoken about the film's comparison to Rishab Shetty's Kantara films. For the unversed, the film will star the actress' never-seen-before avatar as Dhanapisachini.
Sonakshi Sinha speaks about Jatadhara being compared to Kantara
In a conversation for YouTube channel Mashable India, Sonakshi Sinha expressed, "Accept kar rahe hai and honestly we are also coming from a space of folklore, of mystery, mythology, old stories and stuff. So comparisons honge but jiss tarah se iss story me Dhanapisachini ka character hai, its done very naturally and nicely. Toh isme modern kahaani bhi hai (Translation: They are accepting it, and honestly, we too are coming from a space of folklore, mystery, mythology, and old stories. So, comparisons are bound to happen, but the way the character of Dhanapisachini has been portrayed in this story is very natural and well done. "Isme ghost hunter hai which is being played by Sudheer Babu and then there is Dhanapisachini. Toh inn dono ko (modern and old time mythology and folklore) kese combine kiya hai, vo bahaut hi interesting hai and that's what drew me to the film (Translation: There’s a ghost hunter, played by Sudheer Babu, and then there’s Dhanapisachini. Presented by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, Jatadhara is produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, Shivin Narang, Aruna Agarwal, Prerna Arora, Shilpa Singhal, and Nikhil Nanda. Akshay Kejriwal and Kussum Arora serve as co-producers, while Divya Vijay and Bhavini Goswami are part of the creative team. The music and sound design are backed by Zee Music Co., promising a spine-tingling audio experience. The film is set to release on November 7 and also stars Shilpa Shirodkar, Sudheer Babu, Indira Krishnan and others in the lead role.
