Thursday, May 14, things were looking dire for RJ Balaji's Karuppu after the Tamil film missed its release date. However, the film was released a day later on May 15 and audiences have showered it with love, making it Suriya's biggest opener to date. Karuppu minted Rs 17.93 crore gross in India and looks to grow from strong word of mouth on the weekend. Amidst this, Ranabali actor Vijay Deverakonda took to social media to praise Suriya on his hard-earned comeback. The Telugu star shared that he loved all the love the film was receiving and asked him to "take a nice holiday."

On X (formerly Twitter), Vijay posted that he was happy to see the overwhelming love for Suriya's new Tamil film

Veera Bhadrudu. The actor shared that he heard the audience's response was "huuuuge." Vijay went on to add, "Love love love the news, for the brilliance he has been showing us on screen, giving his everything every year."
The Telugu actor expressed that when the theaters are loud and noisy, it fills all of us with joy. He sent his congratulations to Suriya, whom he requested to "take a nice holiday"; director RJ Balaji; and co-star "dearest" Trisha Krishnan. Trisha also responded to his post and thanked Vijay for the well wishes.
