The Pitt Season 2: Patrick Ball, Emmy Winner Shawn Hatosy Share How Their Real-Life Partners Joined Show

Last season on The Pitt, actress Fiona Dourif's father Brad Dorif showed up in a few episodes as her on-screen father. This season, there are more real-life connections as Shawn Hatosy's wife Kelly Albanese

and Patrick Ball's girlfriend Elysia Roorbach join the show as patients. The actors, who play doctors on the Emmy-winning series, spoke about mixing personal with professional. Their colleague, Katherine LaNasa, who plays Nurse Dana Evans, also shared that she met her husband, actor Grant Show, at work. Patrick Ball, Shawn Hatosy on working with real-life partners on screen

In a press conference ahead of the release of the show, Patrick Ball, who plays the disgraced Dr Langdon, shared that working with his girlfriend Elysia was a dream. He revealed, "I had absolutely nothing to do with it. Elysia, my partner auditioned just the old-fashioned way and got the job and it was a real dream come true. We met doing a play together about two years ago. We were doing a play together in Miami with Moises Kaufman, Las Aventuras de Juan Planchard. She played sort of like the femme fatale that gets sucked into the Venezuelan underworld of crime and I played her loser boyfriend back home. And I still and we get to turn around and play pretend together again, I get to be her doctor, and she wanted nothing to do with me, and that felt right."

Emmy winner for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, Shawn Hatosy added, "Well, the same with me - my wife Kelly auditioned, and happened to get the part. We have her stage name, it’s different than my last name, so I don’t know what happened there, they just brought her in and then all of a sudden she was there and I didn’t get to work with her, though."

Katherine LaNasa on working with her husband Grant Show

Their co-star, Katherine LaNasa, assured them that this is common. She shared, "My husband and I met at work, and I went into the scene in Big Love and I fire a character, and then he goes in and hires her. And so, we met that day and we’ve been on several shows together—I don’t know if it’s three or four shows—and we have never had a scene together. "

Hatosy's wife, Kelly Albanese, appears as a patient in the first episode of The Pitt Season 2 and his character Dr Jack Abbot shows up a few episodes later. Meanwhile, Ball's partner Elysia appears on the show as a patient in a multi-episode arc. The Pitt streams every Friday on JioHotstar until its series finale on April 17.
